PROBLEM:
Indigenous artists often face challenges in selling their work due to misrepresentation and a lack of access to trustworthy markets. Many authentic Indigenous-made products are falsely marketed as "Native-made," undermining the value of genuine craftsmanship. Artists struggle to reach their target audience and expand their businesses, limiting their economic growth and financial sovereignty. There is a need for a secure outcome that allows these artists to showcase and sell their work authentically while preserving cultural integrity.
APPROACH:
Collaborated closely with Indigenous artists to create a platform that empowers them to showcase and sell their work authentically. The project focused on building a strong visual identity that resonated with both the artists and their audience, with a strong emphasis on cultural authenticity. This approach was rooted in cultural respect, authenticity, and supporting the economic progress of Indigenous communities.
